Introduction

Focusing on the lives (and a few deaths) of three filmmakers, Rikiya Imaizumi (Their Distance, Sad Tea) tackles weighty themes in this new ensemble drama set in Tokyo and Fukushima. Director Kajiwara, struggling to earn a living from film, gets an offer to do a music video. But it doesn’t go well and he finds himself in an unexpected situation. Actress Aoba witnesses her filmmaker boyfriend's suicide and decides to hide his body. Gardener Taro plans to close the family business he inherits from his father, but receives a phone call one night from the self-declared girlfriend of his estranged twin, Jiro.

Director	Rikiya Imaizumi Rikiya Imaizumi’s I Catch a Terrible Cat (2012) won the Best Directing Award at the Transylvania International Film Festival. He has directed such TV dramas as “Gozen 3 Ji no Muhochitai” (with Tsubasa Honda and Joe Odagiri), “24 Jikan Joyu: Matsu Onna”, and “Tokyo Sentimental” (with Kotaro Yoshida). Same Old, Same Old is his third selection to TIFF after Their Distance (2015) and Sad Tea (2013).

* The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Ordiance for Healthy Youth Development prohibits individuals under age of 18 from being at theaters from 23:00 to 4:00. This also applies when these individuals are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* Screenings at TIFF are not eligible for Cinemileage (TOHO CINEMAS mileage).

* TIFF tickets are not eligible for parking services at any of the venues.
