Introduction

The world’s first fairytales, "Pentamerone", which inspired the Brothers Grimm, are brought to the screen by the genius Matteo Garrone with his epic vision of cinema. This film is the one and only grown-up fantasy film, weaving beautiful but grotesque visuals inspired by the engravings of Francisco Goya as well as classic horror films, with stories full of sarcasm.

Director	Matteo Garrone Born in Rome in 1968. Graduating from the Artistic High School, he decided to become a full-time painter, but eventually he started to intend to make a film. In 1997, he founded his own production company, Archimede. His first feature film, Land in Between (Terra di mezzo) won the Special Jury Award and the Cipputi Award at the Torino Film Festival. In 2008, Gomorrah won the Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival. In 2012, Reality also won the Grand Prix at Cannes.

* Purchase of Opening/Closing/Special Screenings/Tokyo Grand Prix Winner Screening+Award Ceremony tickets are limited to 2 tickets per person. The other screenings are limited to 4 tickets per person.

* The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Ordiance for Healthy Youth Development prohibits individuals under age of 18 from being at theaters from 23:00 to 4:00. This also applies when these individuals are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* Screenings at TIFF are not eligible for Cinemileage (TOHO CINEMAS mileage).

* TIFF tickets are not eligible for parking services at any of the venues.
