Introduction

Aiman is a 28-year-old Malay correctional officer who is recently transferred to the territory’s top prison. At his new workplace, Aiman begins to take an interest in a 65-year-old sergeant named Rahim. Soon, it is revealed that the charismatic Rahim is actually the long-serving chief executioner of the prison. Rahim also takes notice of the principled and diligent Aiman. When Rahim’s assistant suddenly quits, he asks Aiman to become his apprentice. But in fact, Aiman’s father was executed by Rahim. Can Aiman overcome his conscience and a haunted past to possibly take over as the next chief executioner?

Director	Boo Junfeng Born in Singapore in 1983, Boo Junfeng trained in film schools in Singapore and Spain. His works often center on themes of identity, memory, and sexuality. Since 2005, his short films and talent have won him acclaim at numerous renowned international film festivals. His debut feature film Sandcastle premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s International Critics’ Week.

* The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Ordiance for Healthy Youth Development prohibits individuals under age of 18 from being at theaters from 23:00 to 4:00. This also applies when these individuals are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* Screenings at TIFF are not eligible for Cinemileage (TOHO CINEMAS mileage).

* TIFF tickets are not eligible for parking services at any of the venues.
