Introduction

In 1987, frustrated junior high student Takashi hates his uncool father hanging around their suburban home all the time, and is pestered by the area’s wannabe gangsters. But he’s interested in the girl next door, the bounteously-breasted Megumi. One day, Takashi hears a rumor that porn actress Kyoko Yokushimaru is coming to town for an autograph session at the only video store in town where Takashi and his judo friends always hang out. Their ridiculous but serious adventure begins. What will Takashi find after all the surprises and chaos? Recalling youth classics like Stand By Me, this is the debut feature of Shin Adachi, Japan Academy Prize-winning screenwriter of 100 Yen Love.

Director	Shin Adachi Shin Adachi graduated from the Japan Institute of the Moving Image and worked as an assistant director for his mentor, Shinji Somai, while also writing screenplays. His script for 100 Yen Love (2014), won the Japan Academy Prize for Best Screenplay, among others, and the film won the TIFF Japanese Cinema Splash Best Picture Award. He also wrote the indie hit Obon Brothers (2015), and published his first novel, “Chibusa ni Ka (Mosquito on the Breast)”, in 2016.

* The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Ordiance for Healthy Youth Development prohibits individuals under age of 18 from being at theaters from 23:00 to 4:00. This also applies when these individuals are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* Screenings at TIFF are not eligible for Cinemileage (TOHO CINEMAS mileage).
