Introduction

When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team lead by expert linguist Louise Banks is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers, for which she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity itself. A provocative science fiction thriller from acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve, known for Prisoners and Enemy. Based on Ted Chiang's "Story of Your Life," the film stars Academy Award nominees Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker.

Director	Denis Villeneuve Villeneuve, a French-Canadian filmmaker, was born in 1967. His feature film Incendies (2010) was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards, and acclaimed by the New York Times as one of the best movies of 2011. His Hollywood debut work, Prisoners, received a 2014 Oscar nomination for the Best Achievement in Cinematography. He is currently working on Blade Runner sequel.

* The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Ordiance for Healthy Youth Development prohibits individuals under age of 18 from being at theaters from 23:00 to 4:00. This also applies when these individuals are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

* Screenings at TIFF are not eligible for Cinemileage (TOHO CINEMAS mileage).

* TIFF tickets are not eligible for parking services at any of the venues.
