Introduction
While assisting Stephane to photograph his daughter Marie, Jean falls in love with her. But the daguerreotype shooting comes with love and pain. Marie is trapped in photographer's maddening love and Jean wants to free her, but their lives start unraveling inside an old house in Paris imbued with the phantom of a woman who committed suicide. Kiyoshi Kurosawa's first international production.

Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa

Born in 1955. Kurosawa began making 8mm films at university. Sweet Home (1988) was his first commercial direction, followed by other high-profile films such as Cure (1997), License to Live (1998), Charisma (1999) and Pulse (2000). He won the Jury Prize of Un Certain Regard at the 61st Cannes Film Festival with Tokyo Sonata (2008), and again at the 68th for Journey to the Shore (2014).
