We welcome Hana Matsumoto as this year’s Festival Navigator. As an actress, director and also a university student, she will introduce the excitement of film to the younger generation.

Profile:
Matsumoto was born in 1998 in Osaka and started as a child actor. She starred in Yuya Ishii’s Sachiko no Busaiku na Tenshitachi (2010) and many other films and TV dramas by Takashi Miike, Takashi Shimizu, etc. A Midsummer Dream (2014), her directorial feature debut, while still at high school, was officially entered in the Forecast Selection at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. Her next film Dadadada Seventeen (2016) won the Jury’s Special Award and the Audience Award in the Fantastic Off-Theater Competition at the festival. This year with her film project, she won the DHL Award at the Network of Asian Fantastic Films, an industry event at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
