We would like to convey our sincerest apologies for the serious trouble with TIFF’s Online Ticket system, which opened from 12:00PM Saturday, October 15th.
There was trouble connecting the purchase site with the payment site due to heavy congestion on the network immediately after the site opened. We realize that many customers left the site in the following situations:
1. Customers who completed the ticket reservation and the payment, but seats were not assigned to them.
2. Customers who completed the payment, but purchased more tickets than necessary, believing the first sale did not go through.
For customers who encountered these two situations, we are currently sending detailed e-mails with instructions for what to do next.
We have been trying to recover the system and to reopen the Online Ticket site at 8:00 a.m. October 17th, as we announced. However, further difficulties are preventing the system from being completely corrected.
For this reason, we regret to say that ticket sales will not resume on the TIFF Online Ticket site until 12:00 p.m. October 20th (Thu).
Again, we are deeply sorry for the anxiety and inconvenience we caused our customers and all parties concerned.
